A grieving therapist begins telling his clients exactly what he thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making major changes in people’s lives – including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” shares the key moments that defined their characters in season 1 and reveals who does the best Harrison Ford impression. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and would audition people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least pitch the project to Ford first, thinking he would turn it down outright, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was offered the project, generating interest from other notable actors.

And Jessica is perfect
He has the awkward, idiotically confident energy needed for this role. Her humor is perfect for the dialogue. This is the new way of situational dramas. No real jokes, just engaging personalities with a hint of quirk and family circumstances that are a little out of the ordinary but still relatable.
You’d lose your license immediately
Sure, Jimmy’s behavior as a therapist is completely absurd. Just impossible. But we allow metaphorical situations in the drama. And in this script, we feel a strong sense of purpose in the decisions.
Other critics, apparently, struggled
We have to give the writers the benefit of the doubt and try to get the gist. For me, it’s easy and fun.
