Story
After the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, makes a play to seize the reins of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they are in the criminal underworld. Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke cigarettes in The Batman (2022), but failed.

However, in his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional smoker who prefers cigars. The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo.

I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I’ve never understood the appeal of taking a skinny good-looking actor and putting him in a massive prosthetic and a thick suit… especially when I think he looks like other famous actors who would have been just as good. I also didn’t really understand why this spinoff was coming, and honestly, I’m just sick of the Batman reboot.
But I didn’t expect to like it nearly as much
But after episode 1, I can confirm that this show is amazing (so far). I only watched it knowing that the bridge between the first and second movies was a must-watch, and to my surprise, I enjoyed Farrell’s role in the first. The acting is great, the writing is great, and it surprised me with its quick twists and turns.
The biggest thing I liked was that there was a lot more color in this than in Batman
I noticed it almost immediately, because that was a huge complaint about the movie for me (it felt like I was watching it through a Zack Snyder lens). I hope this continues to be as good as it is because I really can’t wait for the next episode.
