Miami, 1991
When his bloodthirsty urges can no longer be ignored, young Dexter Morgan must learn to navigate his inner darkness as he goes from student to vengeful serial killer under the tutelage of his father, Harry. Christian Slater is older than James Remar when Dexter (2006) first aired.

I was very angry because most modern remakes or prequels/sequels these days are just really bad. However, I was surprised at this point.
The actress they chose doesn’t look like her and can’t deliver her lines properly
It started with the show’s intro, they did a really good job of casting, as the actor playing the young Dexter who could have become a son. Actually, all the characters are pretty well cast, except for the character of "Debu", who is pretty terrible.

They wrote their dialogue well, it’s just that the actress doesn’t deliver it with the right attitude or timing. It’s a minor annoyance, though overall it’s worth a couple more episodes to see if they blow it up or not.
