Former CIA Director of Counterintelligence, James Jesus Angleton, also known as the “spy poet”, described the intelligence game as “Wilderness of Mirrors”, which was a phrase borrowed from a T.S. Eliot poem called Gerontion (the title is Greek for “little old man” and the poem is an interior monologue recounting the opinions and impressions of an old man, describing Europe after World War I through the eyes of a man who lived most of his life in the 19th century). In the world of intelligence, in the search for truth, it is difficult to distinguish reality from its reflection, an illusion if you will, as if you were in a “Hall of Mirrors”. I liked the first 2 episodes, but then I found out it was on Paramount and if I didn’t have a subscription to that company, I would have to pay or subscribe.
I enjoyed it until the end of episode 2
Sorry, but it’s getting a bit ridiculous with all the different providers we have now. It would cost a fortune, which I don’t have as an old man, on a fixed income. The series was well put together, the actors were good and the series was easy to follow. I don’t want to detract from the series, so those of you who have a Paramount subscription, do it.
